Phra Nang InnIntroductionThe Phra Nang Inn hotel is located on the beach at the corner of Ao Nang’s two biggest shopping streets. Click here for a map. The lobby is at the street corner, so you can’t hear any traffic in the rooms, only the sound of the waves. The resort, which was renovated in 2007 and again in 2009, is located very close to the beach, just 10 metres away across a tiny and mainly pedestrian acess road. The resort is quiet and yet within easy range of all Ao Nang’s copious amenities. The exterior areas show signs of wear, but the rooms are in good condition. Whilst the rooms are immaculate inside, some of the rooms’ outdoor furniture is a bit worn and could use re-sanding and re-varnishing. Some of the restaurant’s wicker furniture, whilst not exactly scruffy, can’t be described as immaculate either. It is a small resort and there are no green areas for children to run around in, so it is maybe not the best possible choice for families with young children, unless they are going to spend their days on the beach, on day-trips, or in the attractive pool. Parents can sit in the shady restaurant / bar area with a book or a drink, and still keep an eye on their children on the beach.
RestaurantThe restaurant gets mixed reviews on sites such as www.tripadvisor.com. If you like quality bread with your breakfast, book through us and, in addition to hopefully an unbeatable price, we will deliver a fresh quality loaf to you on arrival. The restaurant is OK for lunchtime snacks, but its best to stick to the Thai food or a club sandwich, as more complex Western fare will probably disappoint. Most guests dine out – see the map for restaurants, nightlife and other amenities.
RebuildingThe reception area is currently being rebuilt, which will supposedly be complete in July 2009. Thai resorts are notoriously optimistic (or sometimes even downright dishonest) about construction completion dates, so if you are interested in booking this resort contact us so we can give you an update – the resort is only 300 metres from our office, so one of us will pop over and take a look. We can’t promise that what the resort tell us will happen, but we can take a look and see what the state of play is.
SpaThe resort’s attractive spa, around which are dotted bowls of jasmine flowers floating on water, is unusually competitively-priced for a hotel spa, with massage prices starting at only THB 350 / hour. Use of the steam and sauna room is free for guests who have a massage.
